The RS08 is designed to work from a 3.3v battery and supports travel ranges from 35° to 120°. Shutter blades can vary in size and material, up to a 25mm diameter paddle. Using Nanomotion’s proprietary feedback system, the shutter is fully operational as a closed loop device, stopping on electrical limits to avoid any noise from a mechanical hardstop.

Nanomotion’s XCD board is an OEM amplifier & control board designed for applications using the Edge and Edge-4X motors. The board level product replaces traditional amplifiers with a separate motion controller, as the XCD closes the loop and functions as a stand-alone drive and control. XCD-Edge is a single axis configuration designed to support Nanomotion’s low voltage motors with up to (4) Edge motors or (1) Edge-4X motor on an axis. The XCD is programmed via IIC communication, and can interface with Nanomotion’s nanocommander firmware, accepting quadrature encoder inputs.

]]> The SE motor family optimizes velocity and duty cycle with a new piezo element and motor structure. The SE motor family supports velocities ranging up to 500mm/sec, providing 3X the stiffness of the HR motor and double the efficiency. The increase in motor stiffness yields the ability to work in the sub-nanometer domain and higher efficiency supports significantly greater duty cycle particularly in vacuum operation. The SE motor is available in standard (-S), vacuum/UHV  (-V),  and vacuum/non-magnetic (-VN) configurations.

The SE motor is currently available in the SE4 and SE8 sizes, yielding 16N and 32N force, respectively. The SE motor family is supported with both the AB7 driver (up to 4 x SE8 motors maximum) and Nanomotion’s XCD drive/control boards.

The AB7 is designed to operate in a closed loop environment with an external motion controller closing the position loop and commanding the AB7 via +/-10v analog input. The AB7 supports ALL of the Nanomotion modes of operation, ranging from the standard AB1A mode, the linear AB5 mode, the low speed UHR mode and the ultra high resolution DC mode. All modes are user selectable. The AB7 supports all HR motor configurations and all SE motor configurations up to 32 elements.
