Nanomotion’s HR Motors: Precision and Innovation in Motion

Advancing Precision Technology:  HR Motors

In 1993, the patent for the L1 & B2 of the piezoelectric element was developed, laying the foundation for the first motors and giving rise to a small startup at the Technion in Haifa, Israel. This innovative technology was advanced by the dedicated team at Nanomotion, leading to the release of the HR motor in its current version by late 1998.

The HR Motors

Nanomotion’s HR motors are high-precision ceramic motors, meticulously designed and manufactured by Nanomotion. The HR motors combine unlimited stroke with high resolution in a compact form factor. They are utilized in various applications such as microscopy, precision motion, linear stage, motion systems, and more. The HR motors deliver a linear response to the input voltage, and their operation, along with the piezoelectric driver, mirrors that of a rotary piezo motor driven by a voltage amplifier. Additionally, the HR-V and HR-U motors are constructed from materials specifically chosen and engineered for high vacuum compatibility.

Versatile Applications of HR Motors

Nanomotion’s HR motors are integral to a diverse range of industries due to their high precision and reliability. In the biomedical field, HR motors are essential for advanced microscopy and precision motion applications, enabling intricate and accurate movements necessary for medical research and diagnostics. In the semiconductor industry, HR motors facilitate the precise positioning and manipulation of components, ensuring the high accuracy required for semiconductor manufacturing processes. Additionally, space-rated versions of HR motors are designed to withstand the extreme conditions of space, making them ideal for use in satellite and spacecraft technology.

Beyond these industries, HR motors are also employed in various other industries, where their compact dimensions and high resolution are critical for achieving precise control and efficiency. Whether integrated into a linear stage or part of sophisticated motion systems, or functioning as a rotary piezo motor, HR motors consistently deliver exceptional performance and reliability.

Nanomotion’s advanced gimbal technology marks a significant milestone in the quest for perfect motion control. Its unmatched stabilization performance, along with optimized SWAP characteristics, not only produces smooth, crystal-clear imagery but also enhances operational efficiency across diverse settings. With positive feedback from users and industry insiders alike, Nanomotion’s gimbal is heralded as a transformative asset, poised to lead the future of precision and stability in motion control systems.
